![]() The only other game that I liked for the progression and role-playing elements were the Need for Speed Underground games. I don't understand why we haven't seen that since.įor that reason alone GT4 stands the test of time and is in my opinion the greatest racing game ever made. What's frustrating is that GT4 included an arcade style version in the game, if you don't want to spend ages grinding for cars, doing endurance races, etc. It is so, so disappointing to me that with all the highly realistic driving games we have, and I play many of them, that it seems as though developers have no interest in making a truly progression-based, rags to riches simulation racing game. The concept of starting off with a cheap, shitty car and actually being able to build your funds, customize it extensively, and even turn a trashy car into a well-tuned sleeper.
